The Tucson Saddle Club is a non-profit organization of over 200 horsemen dedicated to equine legislation, good horsemanship, acquisition and preservation of trails, and to sponsor such activities that will enhance the use of horses. We have been in existence since the early 1970’s and have ridden all over the state of Arizona, but mostly within 100 miles of Tucson. We meet once a month with the exception of June, July, August, and December, and try to provide an interesting speaker at each meeting. We also produce a monthly newsletter and sponsor several rides each month of varying degrees of difficulty. We put on the annual Tierra Bella, an organized 5-day catered trail ride in October; club membership required, but joining is only $20 for a single member, or $30 for a family membership. Our rides are very diverse in location, terrain, and can range from easy for the beginner to challenging for the more experienced. We have ridden on the desert floor of the Avra Valley, in the pines of the Santa Rita and Catalina mountains, and the many and varied terrains in between. Many of our members are constantly trying to improve their horsemanship by participating in clinics, taking lessons, and just observing and sharing knowledge. Some of our members volunteer as stewards of portions of the Arizona Trail, as civilian patrol of trails in Saguaro Nation Park, and many members have participated in work parties to improve the trails. In short, we are all about the care and riding of our equine partners!

The speaker for November 13, 2018 will be:
Sue Clark, Pima Trails Association
Sue Clark, President of the Pima Trails Association will be sharing her incredible knowledge of the latest info on many trail plans and happenings around our county. PTA has some very worthy goals and some awesome accomplishments through the years. PTA was formed 31 years ago in October of 1987. I so appreciate what they have done to improve, protect and preserve our access to trails. I look forward to seeing you there.
Bill Braskamp has been a long time member of the saddle club and an outstanding horseman and contributor to the club. He has been a member of the club's Board of Directors for the past two years and is continuing for 2018. He is also active as a ride leader and has been on the Tierra Bella Ride Committee. He is happiest when on or around horses, and loves to breed his paints and quarter horses and bring up the foals. He always has a big smile to share and loves to talk about horses and riding in or out of the saddle. He often helps others work with their horses to solve problems and improve their horses and skills. He is your all around good ol boy and a great friend and member of the Tucson Saddle Club. Good on you Bill and congratulations!!
